A creatively edited maternity session with Magination Images ~ Southern Oregon Photographer

Lisa contacted me months ago and was searching for maternity photography that would deliver her images that stood out from the status quo. She wanted photos that had elements of darkness that spoke of the light and life to come. Well, first of all, Lisa is a gorgeous mama with the most laid-back, fun personality. She was a great lady to work with and I totally enjoyed our time shooting. We shot on a very bright spring evening in medford. Lisa had procured 2 incredibly amazing maternity dresses for her session: a light, pink number that really showed off her baby bump in an elegant way and an epic red gown that just gushed “drama”. She had also shared her desire to get some shots in a “big, fluffy tutu”, so I tried my hand at making one. It was pretty easy and I was impressed with how the piece turned out. In post process I let each image evolve on its own. There were some images that, I felt, needed to preserve their elements of light and brightness. Then there were others that were great candidates for a more creatively dark process. I used a selection of sky images, created by Robin Chavez (you can purchase them here) and composited the final edits to create dramatic skylines. Here are some of my favorites from the session.
