I was hired by Grecia to photograph her wedding while she was still living in Puerto Rico. She is an amazing woman with an incredible sense of family. She and Ryan had met through a mutual friend, and though their relationship was long distance, love prevailed. They were married at the Rogue Regency Inn of Medford, Oregon on a warm spring day. We took the shuttle to EdenVale Winery for formal photos of the bride and groom; it is their favorite local winery and they’ve created many a precious memory there. The reception was held in the ball room of the Rogue Regency.
I always ask my brides to budget me a little bit of time right before sunset for additional photos. The light is ideal then and it can really make for some stunning shots. The Regency is located right along Hwy 62; there isn’t much available in terms of gorgeous natural backdrops. However, with the sun low in the sky, the bokeh from the city lights and traffic really created a magic element in which to shoot. I took the bride and groom to the median of the highway where they would be safe from oncoming traffic, yet surrounded on both sides from passing vehicles. It was perfect. For Grecia and Ryan’s creative edits from that series I recreated the sky and enhanced the bokeh. To this day, their traffic shots are some of my favorite images.
